Coming to the Reserve

The Réserve Zoologique de Calviac is located in Dordogne, in the Black Perigord, 10 km from Sarlat-la-Canéda.

Address : Under the Rock, 24370 Calviac-en-Périgord.

Access by road:


From Sarlat:

Take the D704 then D704A towards Souillac / A20 Paris.


From Toulouse, Brive-la-Gaillarde:

A20 exit 55 Souillac, take the D703 towards Sarlat. The Reserve is located 3km after the town of Calviac-en-Périgord.


From Gourdon:

Take the direction of Sarlat. Before the town of Carsac, take the D703 towards Souillac. 1km after the town of Aillac, turn left towards Sarlat. The Reserve is 200m away.


Access by train and bus:


Sarlat station (Bordeaux-Libourne-Sarlat line) Or Souillac station (Paris-Toulouse line).

The two cities are frequently connected by bus. Get off at the "Carsac-Aillac - Aillac" stop, located 1km from the Reserve. Take the track cycle path towards Souillac for 800m then the D704A towards Sarlat for 200m.

Access by bike:


The Sarlat-Souillac cycle path follows the old railway line.


From Sarlat, Carsac-Aillac:

After the village of Aillac, continue for 800m then take the D704A towards Sarlat for 200m.


Coming from Souillac, Cazoulès, Peyrillac-et-Millac, Roufillac (Carlux), Saint-Julien-de-Lampon:

Pass the town of Calviac-en-Périgord. After 3km, take the D704A for 200 m towards Sarlat.

Accessibility and services

The Reserve site is located on a hill: there is a 50-meter difference in altitude between the parking lot and the upper part.

This is the reason why Wheelchairs are not recommended.


Dogs are not allowed within the Reserve grounds.
